The founders of Open Consent bring together many years of experience developing privacy, notice and consent systems for enterprises in many jurisdictions.

The OpenConsent team have proven capability in working with regulators and are authors of the leading open standards in the market.

Our Team

Our team has been involved in building usable privacy, security and identity infrastructure for decades. Combined, Sal D'Agostino and Mark Lizar have almost 50 years of experience in privacy, security, identity management and consent.

K Waterman Krasnow brings very deep experience and subject matter expertise about privacy and surveillance and is globally recognised as a legal tech pioneer with groundbreaking efforts in privacy and rights automation.

Joss Langford, is world renown as the author and developer of the Classification of Every Day Living (COEL) Standard at OASIS

Mark Lizar

Co-Founder & CEO
Mark Lizar, began his investigation and development of OpenConsent with deep research in the application of surveillance and identity in society.

Mark has led the industry in the development of international consent and notice specification at the Kantara Initiative and the IPBN privacy framework. Mark’s experience and depth of knowledge surveillance and privacy compliance led to enforcement of privacy laws in the United Kingdom and the lobby that created the surveillance code of practice.

Most recently, the Kantara Consent Receipt V.1.1 was published on May 25th, 2018 which provides the foundation for international privacy operability for people.

Sal D'Agostino

Co-Founder & CXO
Sal D’Agostino, provides OpenConsent leadership in both a technical and business development capacity. Sal has been involved in building intelligent infrastructure in the physical and digital world for decades.

Sal has had successive careers where he has helped pioneer the deployment of Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 201, Personal identity Verification (PIV), credentials and access control infrastructure implemented across the United States government including the Pentagon.

Sal’s experience in surveillance is tied directly to his 18 years at Computer recognition systems that developed the first plate number reading systems as well as automate surveillance.

Everyday Sal is working to improve the cyber security and privacy of the cyber-physical world.


K. Krasnow Waterman

Advisory Board Chair
K Waterman Krasnow, is world renown a LegalTech pioneer who has been addressing privacy and security issues in roles as diverse as inception CIO of an intelligence analytics facility created by the White House after 9/11, Global Head of Know Your Customer at Citigroup, and a visiting researcher/ lecturer and fellow at MIT.

OpenConsent is fortunate enough to have K, following successive careers in managing tech and practicing law.

Joss Langford

Advisory Board
Joss Langford is an engineer, scientist, author and proven business leader, pioneering the use of behavioural data. Led the research and development of event based protocol for behavioural data with the COEL standard at OASIS for the Classification of Everyday Living. Joss is the director of Coelition which is a non-profit company that provides the infrastructure to supports the responsible use of behavioural data by organisations looking to grow brands and drive social change.


Greg Harris

Platform Developer
Greg has been involved in the development of the IPBN since we have begun to make it operational and leads the rapid PoC team.

Greg is responsible for the back end of the IPBN, its signal and its privacy infrastructure.   (as any good rugby forward would be)

Sylvester Mbagwu

Technical Community Manager
The newest member for the OpenConsent team is a future leader in privacy and security. Sylvester is currently completing his masters is Cyber Security at City University while interning at OpenConsent to direct the IPBN community programs.

Jason Hart

Branding & Design
Has his hand in the brand and user experience of OpenConsent. Jason makes it easier for everyone to see what we all do at OpenConsent. Jason's skills help us improve the customer experience across the capabilities of the IPBN.
